On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, a special rally was organised by Bijpur Police Station in Kanchrapara. The event involved active participation from police officers, staff members, and students from various schools across the town. The objective of the rally was to spread awareness among the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a message of health and education.
Participants in the rally marched through key roads of Kanchrapara carrying banners, posters, and raising slogans such as “Nasha nahi, shiksha aur swasthya hi hai asli rasta.” The rally drew attention from local residents who observed and in many places joined the peaceful procession. The route covered several populated areas to maximise visibility and impact.
According to police officials, the rally was aimed at encouraging youth and the general public to stay away from addictive substances. Officers said the effort was focused on promoting awareness through direct public interaction and youth participation. The event concluded without any disruption and was carried out under planned security arrangements.
